ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Rick Lydon currently teaches science at a middle school in New Hampshire. He has presented at the National Conference for Alternative Education, the NH Science Teachers Conference, and many local workshops. His publishing experience includes several years as the creator of a local newspaper cartoon strip entitled Where We Live, and guest editorial for the Nashua Telegraph. A chapter from In the Roundest of Places appeared in the February 2011 NSTA publication ScienceScope. Rick has also successfully written several educational grants and served on a number of school district committees. Prior to teaching, Rick served for many years as manager for a large international financial printing company where he also created and presented corporate training materials. Additionally, Rick is a co-owner of an Early Learning Center in New Hampshire.

Rick lives in New Hampshire with his wife, Carol, and their two golden retrievers. When he is not teaching, he spends much of his spare time with family or in the outdoors, and can often be found strolling on the beach in search of small round stones.
